The Plains Presbyterian Church (PPC) praise band began in 2004 with the design of bringing glory to God by serving the members of our congregation through providing musical variety to our Sunday morning worship services. The worship style at PPC is unashamedly traditional, and the introduction of the praise band does not represent a movement away from traditional music, nor does it imply that our worship services lacked variety, energy or enthusiasm without the praise band. The praise band does however serve as a means of reaching out to those in our congregation with backgrounds that are culturally foreign to traditional worship music. The praise band also provides a medium for a number of our members to use their gifts and talents to the glory of God and the service of his people. While the words "praise band" have a very specific connotation that is often frowned upon among conservative evangelicals, the music of the PPC praise band is rooted in historical hymnody and is carried out with sensitivity to the regulative principle of worship. The praise band provides weekly assembly songs beginning ten minutes prior to the beginning of both morning services.
